Mung Beans Soup For Health

A sedentary way of living, irregular eating habits, consumption of more packaged processed foods, junk foods, lack of exercise, and many more factors all lead to various types of diseases. For combating the disease it is need of an hour to engage ourselves in healthy eating.

As it is very well known Ayurveda science has given a lot of importance to diet, food is termed as Mahabhesjaya in Ayurveda means the best medicine. It is said that there will be no need for medicine if we are eating healthy food with certain guidelines, therefore there are several food preparations mentioned in Ayurveda literature for the promotion of health and Mudga Yusha ( Green Gram Soup) is one of them.

Mudga Yusha( Mung Beans Soup)


 

Mung beans are small green pulse easily available in every kitchen that is rich in nutrients. In India, Mung beans are commonly used in meals but making it in the Ayurveda way is much more beneficial, 

Method of Preparation-

Ingredients-

  • Mudga Dal ( Green Gram Dal/ Mung beans)- 1/2 bowl 
  • Shunthi Powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pippali Powder( if available)- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water- 16 times of Mung beans 
  • Saindhav Lavan- As per taste 
  • Maricha ( Black pepper)- As per taste 
  • Ghee- 1 teaspoon

Procedure-

  • Firstly wash Mung beans properly.
  • Then, take Mung beans, Shunthi powder, and Pippali powder and 16times of water in a cooker and heated till mung beans cooked or remain half in quantity.
  • Take them out in a bowl.
  • Now, fry Saindhav Lavan and Maricha in ghee.
  • Then, poured them on a cooked mung beans soup.
  • Serves hot and tasty mung beans soup.
