Ayurveda is today’s era well-known science, people are so keen towards Ayurveda science to stay healthy. But only some of the peoples knew about the history of Ayurveda, the origin of Ayurveda.

Before I start this blog I understand some of you people  might  be  won’t believe in mythological stories related to gods but some of you  also believe so who believe in this types of stories this post is for you, who are eager to know about most ancient science in the world. So let’s start -

Firstly, here comes a question why this science called Ayurveda  here’s a quotation in Charaka Samhita( most precious book of Ayurveda ) regarding this –Ayurveda “तद् आयुर्वेद इति आयुर्वेद“ means Veda related to ayu, to maintain the ayu ( age ) is Ayurveda.

There was a description of the origin of Ayurveda in mostly all ancient Samhitas and each Samhitas has its own story related to origin. Now I like to share with you a description of the origin of Ayurveda according to Charaka Samhita (the most acceptable and most precious gem in Ayurveda ).

According to Charaka Samhita, there was a time in the earth when there was an imbalance in the earth, people start dying from unnatural causes, they suffered from unknown diseases. Saints of earth were all tensed none of them were able to find any solution to treat this major problem so they start meditating and during meditation, they realized Indra (king of deva ) was able to solve their problem, then the question arises who was able to go to Indra palace as it was very difficult to reach him but saint named Bhardwaj voluntarily wished to meet Indra deva and he went to meet lord Indra. As soon as he meets him, he told them about the unknown diseases which lead to the death of human beings and asked lord Indra deva to show him a path. Then lord Indra told him about Ayurveda a science which was memorized by Lord Brahma ( God who generates human being ). A science to treat the diseased ones and to maintain well being of healthy ones. Lord Brahma taught Ayurveda to his son Daksha Prajapati and  Daksha Prajapati gave knowledge about Ayurveda to Ashwani kumara ( doctors of deva ). Ashwani kumara shared everlasting science of Ayurveda to there king -Lord Indra . Saint Bhardwaj was the first person to learn about Ayurveda and to bring this authentic precious science of Ayurveda to earth. He shared all about Ayurveda that he learned from lord Indra with all his fellow saints and starts treating people and teaching about Ayurveda to human beings.

For easy understanding in short Ayurveda firstly memorized by lord Brahma à Daksha Prajapati à Ashwani kumara àLord Indra à Saint.

These saints start following Ayurveda, made Samhitas ( Ayurvedic literature ), teaches Ayurveda  and from generation to generation, the ancient science of Ayurveda transfers so that knowledge of Ayurveda never fades and all the mankind on earth lives healthy both mentally and physically.
So for now this is all about the history of the origin of Ayurveda in short. I am so happy to share all these interesting facts about Ayurveda to all of you. I hope you all liked this.
